It’s a bizarre tale of the people behind some of the largest and most well-known big cat sanctuaries in the country and man, is it STRANGE. Or so the docuseries has us believe… The mysterious disappearance of Carole’s first husband, who happened to be a millionaire, is very suspicious. An impending divorce, the potential to lose all her cats and her money could have driven Carole to the edge and the sheriff’s office seems to agree, as her case has been reopened. Joe Exotic’s Music Career and Political Run
Not only did Joe Exotic rock a mullet, but he was a gun-toting, boot-wearing, country singer. Throughout the docuseries, you are #blessed enough to see some of Joe Exotic’s greatest hits. I don’t see him being recognized at the CMT Awards anytime soon and maybe he knew that, sparking his decision to run for office. Yes, that’s right. Joe Exotic not only ran for governor, but he also ran for president!
Travis’ Death
This story line shook me to the core. I had this initial image of Travis as a carefree man who loved Joe, but that was all shattered the more I watched. It came to light that he was an addict, and Joe was apparently using his addiction against him to get him to stay at the zoo. Whether this is true or not is irrelevant. His untimely death is tragic and was something I was not expecting or prepared for.
