Let me start off by saying that this post was inspired by a recent accident: I spilled water all over my desk. Luckily, my desk is clutter-free (hello type A) and clean up was a breeze. And, of course, I store a small roll of paper towels in my bottom left drawer. Proud to announce that nothing of value was seriously injured.
Are you asking yourself why I store paper towels within reach? Because… I’m clumsy. Always have been, always will be. My first job at a shoe store was an accident waiting to happen. This got me thinking, what other oddities do I keep in my office drawers?
Below are a few essential items I keep handy. Minus the obvious office supplies, of course. Though I am picky when it comes to that, too.
Lip Balm: I swear, my lips are always dry.
Tylenol: Because having a headache in an open office is rough.
Cookies: Specifically, Keebler Coconut Dreams because it tastes exactly like Samoas Girl Scout Cookies. I kid you not.
Tide To Go Pen: Every morning I drink a matcha green tea latte. Key word: Green. (remember: clumsy) Oh, and I like to wear white shirts. Let me tell you, this powerful pen comes in handy.
Zum Mist Body Aromatherapy Spray and Body Mist: This little bottle smells amazing!! Plus it doubles as a room spray. You can’t go wrong!
Moisturizing eye drops: going blind in one eye gives me a headache (then I need Tylenol).
Big comfy grandma sweater: my boss keeps the office at a strict 73 degrees.
Extra phone charger: the last thing you need is your phone dying.
Water: a 40 oz refillable water bottle. It’s important to keep hydrated.
Lotion: because it smells good. Everyone loves to borrow it and visit me!
