There’s a Meme for That

Like every millennial, my second language is memes. Because my career makes up such a large part of my life, almost every meme I come across reminds me of something related to work. If you’re in need of a laugh, here are some of the funniest memes I’ve seen and how I relate them to the PR world.

When every single client call and internal meeting you have for the week somehow land on the same day. Say goodbye to getting any actual work done.

Pro tip: next time you consider sending a follow up email to a reporter without offering any new information, remember this meme. Look at that girl. You don’t want to be that girl. Pointless follow up emails are a big no-no.

When you’re allowed to wear workout clothes to work, it takes about 2 weeks for you to realize putting actual pants on in the morning isn’t worth the effort. At Fish, business casual is against our religion.

One word: #SummerProblems

The most accurate meme for anytime a client crisis pops up.

Working in PR means there’s no shortage of expectations – whether it’s from your client, your boss or your manager.

I’ve been working in PR for 6 years and I’m 99% sure that none of my family or friends actually understand what I do for a living.
