Summer Reading List

While I’ve always loved reading, a few months ago I realized that I hadn’t picked up a book in forever. Like almost everyone I know, I had prioritized staying up to date on every single TV series under the sun instead of carving out time to actually use my brain and dive into a great story. While admittedly I still appreciate a good Netflix binge sesh, I made a promise to myself that instead of spending 10 hours plopped in front of my TV watching an entire season of the latest hit show, I’d start dedicating some of my free time to rediscovering my love of reading.

Surprisingly, it was easier than I thought it’d be (although the number of Real Housewives episodes sitting in my DVR unwatched gives me slight anxiety – there just aren’t enough hours in the day my friends). I’ve been on a reading roll lately, and I’m LOVING IT. Putting down the remote and picking up a great book when I’m unwinding after a long day has done more than just give me a new form of entertainment – it’s improved my sleep and overall well-being. Apparently, all that Game of Thrones binge watching and bombarding my senses with murder and war right before bed wasn’t doing me any favors.

If you’re considering getting into reading but don’t know where to start, luckily for you I’ve compiled a list of all the books on my Summer 2019 Reading List. Happy reading!

  1. Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng (this is going to be turned into a Hulu series so it’s practically required reading)

  3. The Guest Book by Sarah Blake
  4. Educated by Tara Westover
  5. Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate
  6. Run Away by Harlan Coben
