Never Too Early to Start Spring Cleaning

Despite cold temperatures still impacting millions across the country, here in Florida we’ve started to feel 80-degree weather again. With humidity and high temperatures back in the air, I can’t help but think that winter is long gone and it’s that time of the year again when I should be going through my closet, grabbing a big garbage bag, and getting rid of everything I don’t need. Here’s a quick outline to spring cleaning 101. If your spring clean is going to be a pretty big affair and you need help, Red Deer cleaning services can be of assistance during this time, or alternatively, you can contact your local cleaning services to see how they can aid you.

Create a checklist

Start by writing down all those tasks you’ve neglected for months now and separate each item you write down by rooms. If the list starts getting long and looking like the receipts from CVS, remember that you don’t have to tackle everything in one day. Use the weekend and give yourselves a couple of days to finish. Plus remember there are professional cleaners that can help you too. For example, if your gutters need a deep clean, bring in a Southeast Gutter Cleaning Horsham service. That way, you know it’s done properly and it’s something ticked off your list! Another important point to consider is to focus your efforts one room at a time and to not move on until that room has been dealt with.

Get rid of what you don’t need

Be realistic. If you have a pair of skates you never use or an extra pair of everything in your kitchen now’s the time to grab a bag and give it away. If the items you are ready to part ways with are lightly worn and would be of good use to someone else, consider giving them away or donating to a local charity. Even though you may not have a use for these, doesn’t mean they may not be helpful to others in need. If you feel that you have too much stuff though, then perhaps consider getting a skip from a Waste Clearance company. This can be really useful if you have a lot of stuff that you need to get rid of, and it can make your life a lot easier when it comes to cleaning!

Invite a friend or two

The more people involved, the faster cleaning will go. Offer those that come to help some refreshments and snacks to lighten the mood and enjoy the process. They’ll appreciate it and next time they need a hand, be prepared to do what they have done for you as well. Your friends may also have tools that’ll help the cleaning process hurry along. Perhaps they can bring along their vacuums for shag carpet cleaning or their window washers, making the whole cleaning process more efficient and helping your home dazzle.

Have fun with it

Does anyone actually enjoy cleaning? It may not be something we look forward to doing but why not make it somewhat fun. Grab a cup of your favorite coffee, or mimosa, and tell Alexa to play the latest hits. Cleaning with music in the background is a lot better than in the quiet and I’m sure there’s some study out there that proves my point.

Treat yourself

All hard work should be rewarded, right? Treat yourself to takeout or relax and take in the clean, new space. After all, you deserve it.

Spring cleaning comes along every year and although it’s not something we all look forward to doing, we should embrace it and apply it to not only household chores, but also our everyday lives. When that day comes along, think what else you can clean up! I’ll be tackling my office desk next week.
