Full disclosure: I may be Jewish, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t LOVE Christmas. My tree was up before Thanksgiving and I have zero shame about it (it’s 2020, we all need cheer and frankly my boyfriend was lucky I didn’t insist putting it up in August given the hellscape this year has been). From Home Alone to It’s A Wonderful Life, I never get sick of any of the classics, but there are a lot of solid modern Christmas movies streaming across a variety of platforms. Given that we’re all going to be spending a lot more time at home this year instead of holiday party hopping thanks to the never-ending COVID pandemic, there’s no doubt that we’ll be parked on our couches watching more TV this holiday season than usual. So, here’s a watch list of some newer Christmas films to enjoy and where to catch them.
- Happiest Season, Hulu
- Holidate, Netflix
- Last Christmas, HBO Max
- The Christmas Chronicles, Netflix
- The Knight Before Christmas, Netflix
- The Princess Switch, Netflix
- The Family Stone, Hulu
- Noelle, Disney+
