When thinking about working in an office that is majority female, many think the office is destined for petty drama and superficial conversations. This stereotype is placed on groups of women and is very inaccurate. Need proof? Come to Fish.
Over the past year, I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing Fish’s culture and it truly is unlike any other. The women in this office support each other’s successes and celebrate their triumphs. Every person is valued for their talents and is challenged to be their best. One of my favorite quotes is, ‘When women support each other, incredible things happen’ and that may be the secret to Fish’s success.
Another perk of working with women? They are more understanding. When talking about corporate America, it’s common to hear that you need to keep your personal life and business life separate. While this is generally true, the women in this office understand that personal life can sometimes get in the way. If that happens, there are no eye rolls or critical remarks. Instead, there are team members offering to help with your workload or just be an objective listener. Surprisingly, this balance has made working at Fish more enjoyable and less stressful.
One of best parts of working with majority women is how excited everyone gets about life milestones. Getting married? We might be more excited than you are. Having a baby? We demand a play date. Starting your own business? We will share the heck out of your Facebook page.
I work with the most professional, creative, encouraging and hard-working women and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
