Keeping the camaraderie alive in an unsteady environment

At Fish, we really take pride in the culture we’ve built over the years. Culture has always been something we prioritize and as a result, we truly believe we’ve created an incredibly unique environment that we all genuinely love coming to everyday. Not only does our team work famously well together, we actually really enjoy being around each other. That’s why transitioning to a remote working situation was challenging to navigate early on in the pandemic. Don’t get me wrong, from and logistics and technology standpoint, we were totally equipped to be remote. But the thought of not coming to the office and being together every day was honestly daunting. There’s just something special about this team and once we came to terms with our new reality, we were on a mission to keep our camaraderie alive, even from a distance. From surprise drive-bys and lunch deliveries to virtual happy hours, home office stipends and more, we’ve been doing everything we can to keep our team’s spirits high.

Most recently, we launched two new fun programs to help keep everyone connected and engaged, whether we’re working from home or in the office. Inspired by the popular book title Tuesdays with Morrie, we started our own learning series called “Wednesdays With…” where each month, one of the Fishies will lead a conversation about any topic that’s of interest to them and anyone who’s interested in the topic can join. We host these via Zoom the fourth Wednesday of the month, and it’s meant to be a fun afternoon chat to bring us together and help break up the day. Sam hosted our first one and for anyone who knows her, it will probably come as no surprise that her topic was “The Best and Worst Housewives of All Time.” She is our resident Bravo guru after all!

We also implemented our weekly “Snack Sesh” because nothing brings people together like a carefully curated spread of snacks, amirite?! With the office reopening and a handful of Fishies starting to come in again (socially distanced of course!), we wanted to have a moment in time each week where we can step away, catch up on life and just be together, while of course enjoying a lite bite or two. It’s safe to say everyone is thoroughly enjoying it, especially our resident pup Abbie (who happens to be my fur baby) as you can see from the photo above. Her eyes are just screaming “I’m cute, feed me please!!” If you’re ever in the neighborhood and need an afternoon snack, throw on a mask and come join us!
