The upcoming Mario movie has been generating a ton of buzz among fans. The movie, which was produced by Illumination Entertainment and the one-and-only, Nintendo, was released this April – and you MUST check it out!
One of the most exciting aspects of the new Mario movie is the voice cast!! Chris Pratt was our famous Mario (he was GREAT!), while Anya Taylor-Joy voiced our beautiful Princess Peach (again, fantastic). Charlie Day is the voice of Mario’s brother Luigi (which I can’t un-hear him now), and Jack Black will be playing the villainous Bowser. Yes, Bowser sings and it’s incredible yet emotional.
The movie was directed by Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of the Mario franchise, so you die-hard fans can expect the film to stay true to the source material. Miyamoto has stated that the movie will be a “new adventure”. All I can say is.. I see you easter eggs.. I see all of you!! After all, the Mario franchise has been a beloved part of popular culture for over three decades, and the opportunity to see these iconic characters come to life on the big screen is sure to be a treat for fans young and old.
