How to #KonMari your Desk

Let’s look at the #konmari method and tackle your desk drawers. Most of your office belongings will fall into the Komono, or miscellaneous items, category. Unless you’re like me… and you keep a spare sweater in your desk drawer (this office is always freezing!). First step, take everything out of your drawers. Yes, all your drawers. Create a pile on your desk with all your office belongings and reflect on how much (or little) items you have stockpiled. You may feel the next step of ‘asking yourself if it sparks joy’ method is inapplicable here, but you’re wrong. Do you have a favorite pen (I do) or possibly a favorite notebook (also yes) in that pile? Hello joy! If an item doesn’t spark joy, be thankful to it before letting it go. Once you’ve completed filtering through your items, you’ll require a place to put them. Marie Kondo is a fan of boxes, any available boxes! Or this may be an excuse to visit The Container Store and spend your money on boxes. Keep your items categorized by type and organize the boxes by frequency of use. AKA pens towards the front and extra staples in the back. It’s simple as that! Enjoy!
