In a normal year, we would have already purchased our LBD and reserved a ticket for the NYE party everyone is talking about. However, we’re still in a pandemic and there’s no denying December 31 will look different this year. That’s why, I thought I’d share with you a couple of ideas I came across online and brainstormed myself on ways you can still celebrate the fact that we are finally moving on and leaving 2020 behind. Check this out!
Decorate your home for 2021: According to Good Housekeeping, you can and should still put up the usual home decorations you’d do any other year. Bring out the obnoxious balloons, glasses, hats and noise makers. If you don’t have much of these party supplies at home, swing by your nearest Party City or order a few of these items online to avoid the crowds.
Put on your party dress: Just because you’re not going out for a night on the town doesn’t mean you can’t get glammed up. Grab that holiday dress you thought you’d be wearing at the end of the year and have your partner join in on the fun too!
Grab a boardgame: Although you probably won’t be spending a lot of time with friends this NYE, you can still enjoy playing games between two people or even think about doing some sort of Zoom game with others. Online Bingo and Guess Who can still be fun and engaging over video.
Create a playlist of your favorite tunes: Celebrate the last day of this year by playing your favorite songs (party or chill music – whatever you’re in the mood for) you can singalong to with your bestie or partner. The whole point here is to end the year on a high note and forget how awful 2020 was – even if it’s just for an hour or two.
