Fish’s Growing Presence in The Queen City

While Fish is headquartered in sunny South Florida, the company also boasts a presence in major cities across the U.S. One city gaining momentum is Charlotte, NC, where two of the team members recently relocated.

Charlotte, North Carolina, ranks among the top U.S. cities by the 2023-2024 U.S. News & World Report. The area is increasingly attracting young professionals with its post-pandemic growth, mild weather year-round, diverse attractions, and expanding culture outside the financial district.

Brendan Maguire, an account executive since July 2023, moved from suburban New Jersey to Charlotte in November, seeking a new experience and affordable living. He chose Charlotte’s NoDa area, known for its vibrant art scene, diverse dining options, and Optimist Hall, which is a popular food and beverage venue offering some of the city’s best culinary experiences. Brendan also enjoys the convenience of living near one of the city’s light rail stops, which allows him to easily explore other areas.

Being a big sports fan, he appreciates having professional teams in basketball, football, soccer, and rugby nearby. When not working, Brendan can be found playing pickleball, a sport gaining popularity in the city, or enjoying trivia nights at local breweries with friends.

Alyssa Pfitscher, a senior account executive who joined Fish in the summer as well, recently made the move from New York to South End, Charlotte, looking for a change of pace. South End is known for its lively atmosphere, trendy boutiques, and vibrant dining scene. Alyssa has embraced the warm weather by going for long walks every day and has recently enjoyed taking on the role as aunt to her roommates 8-week-old Australian Shepherd puppy.

Since Alyssa just recently moved three weeks ago, she’s eager to catch up to Brendan’s level of activities. To challenge themselves, the pair decided to try indoor rock climbing together for the first time, an activity they thoroughly enjoyed! They also bumped into each other during the city’s St. Patricks Day celebrations! They plan to continue exploring the city, discovering new adventures to share with their fellow Fishies throughout the year.
