Fish’s Furry Friends: Get to Know Our Four-Legged Interns

In most offices, you’re greeted by a secretary at the door, but Fish isn’t like most offices. In our neck of the woods, you’re more likely to be greeted by one of our four-legged Fishies, because at Fish, take your dog to work day is every day. There are countless studies that reinforce how having pets in the office reduces stress and makes employees feel more relaxed, as well as increases employee satisfaction and improves morale. We know that everyone thinks their dog is the most special dog in the world, but they’re wrong: our pups simply can’t be beat. Our furry friends are just as important to the Fish culture as each of us are, and their presence allows us to produce the top-notch work that our clients have come to expect. They’re the key to our success, and we couldn’t live without them. While many of our remote team members also have dogs (who are just as amazing), there are four Floridian pups who are almost always around at the Fort Lauderdale Fish HQ. Keep reading to get to know them – and if you take a trip down to sunny south Florida to visit us, you’ll be lucky enough to meet them!

Maddie
When Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico in 2017, countless dogs who had been left homeless and abandoned in the wake of the devastation were rescued and brought stateside. One of those lucky pups given a second chance at life is Sam’s dog Maddie (although Sam considers herself the lucky one). When she first came to the office, she was a very nervous pup however that’s completely changed now! We used to have to give her pet CBD oil (Read more about it here) when she first came to us, due to the fact she was so anxious and scared. She settled in pretty quickly and she’s definitely back to her full personality now! She loves being here! Maddie is the definition of the sweetest soul, and no matter how stressed you are or how bad of a day you’re having, a quick hug from this girl somehow magically melts your worries away. No one loves coming into the Fish office more than Maddie (she cries of happiness each time she walks through the door, true story), not only because she gets to spend the day with her mama and all her favorite Fishies, but because she also gets to see her BFF Abbie! If you’re wondering who Abbie is…….

Abbie
Abbie is Andie’s dog and Maddie’s best friend, and despite Lorne technically being the CEO of Fish, she’s the real boss around here. Abbie is smarter than you, and she knows it. This is Abbie’s world, and we’re all just living in it. As sassy as she is sweet, Abbie is a staple of the Fish office and will always be the first to greet you when walking through our office doors. Winning over Abbie’s approval can be tricky, but we’ll let you in on a little secret: the key to this girl’s heart is food. From goldfish and pita chips to fried chicken and French fries, she doesn’t discriminate when it comes to grub, so sneak her a bite of your snack and she’ll love you forever.

Willow
Willow is the latest addition to our Fish fam, and she’s already left her mark on all of our hearts. Marisa volunteers for a local animal rescue non-profit organization, where Willow ended up as a rescue, and it was love at first sight. They always say when you know you know, and the second Marisa laid eyes on Willow, she knew that this dog was meant to be with her. There’s nothing Willow loves more than being loved, and we’re all happy to oblige and shower this sweet girl in all of the attention she deserves. At just four months old, Willow is the youngest of the bunch, yet somehow, she seems wise beyond her years. We all love having a new puppy around, and we can’t wait to watch her grow up.

Opus
Julia’s Frenchie Opus is the man of the house, being the only male dog of our furry friend group. He’s not complaining though: all of the female pups of the office are his girlfriends and judging by his smiling face when he gets to chase Maddie and Abbie around our backyard, it’s obvious he loves being a lady’s man. Like most dogs, Opus deep down thinks he’s a human, and sits upright in a chair like humans do. As a result, if you’re in a meeting in Julia’s office, be prepared to see Opus sitting in a chair right next to you, as if he’s just another regular member of the team (which of course he is). If you happen to hear someone snoring in our office, it’s not one of us taking a midday nap: it’s Opus. His snore is as loud as he is cute (and he’s the cutest).
