Fast Causal Restaurants Going Clean and Green

Here at Fish, we represent several fast casual restaurant concepts ranging from Fazoli’s, Chicken Salad Chick, Captain D’s, to Tropical Smoothie. However, the one thing that many of these brands have in common is the shift toward healthier food options for customers. These days, consumers are more health conscious than ever before, and are demanding healthier alternatives to traditional fast food fare.

At Fazoli’s, America’s largest fast casual Italian chain, the menu was recently made completely clean and free of all artificial sweeteners, flavors, preservatives and colors from its entire food menu. Customers are already raving about the delicious new clean menu, and enjoy having a guilt free way to feed their families while on the go.

As part of its “Naturally Italian” initiative to introduce a new clean menu, Fazoli’s worked closely with nearly 50 suppliers to guarantee that a total of 81 artificial ingredients, colors and preservatives were eliminated from its food. A few of the additives that were removed from menu items include Calcium Propionate, Nitrates and Sodium Benzoate from its proteins, salad dressings and signature breadsticks, as well as artificial flavors, colors and high-fructose corn syrup from all desserts. Several of Fazoli’s menu items were already clean including all unfilled pastas, its signature marinara sauce and fresh salads. Fresh brewed tea will be clean, as well, and made with pure cane sugar.

Other examples include brands such as Panera Bread, Chipotle and Blaze Pizza cleaning up their menus of any preservatives and offering customers healthier options even when they are in a time crunch.

So the next time you are rushing around and need to grab a quick bite to eat, no need to resort to the usual preservative filled greasy foods, there are now multiple fast casual options to choose from that your heart (and health!) will thank you for.
