Fall Reading List

As the leaves begin to don their vibrant autumnal hues and the scent of pumpkin spice fills the air, there’s no better time to cozy up with a good book than in the crisp days of fall. Whether you’re curled up by the fireplace with a warm cup of tea or lounging in a hammock beneath the falling leaves, the season beckons you to embark on literary adventures that complement the ambiance of autumn. In this blog post, we’ll explore a carefully curated list of books that will make your fall reading experience truly unforgettable. So, grab your favorite blanket and prepare to get lost in the pages of these remarkable reads that perfectly match the spirit of the season.

  • Pumpkinheads
    • This 2019 Goodreads choice winner hails a 4.03 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. This book is full of childhood autumn emotions which we all know and love. The main characters are teenagers who work together at a local pumpkin patch. Two words to describe this book would be tender and hilarious.
  • The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches
    • Witches, magic, love, and a new family. This book follows social media witch sensation Mika Moon as she navigates teaching young witches magic while also falling in love and discovering a newfound family.
  • The Southern Book Clubs Guide to Slaying Vampires
    • This is quite literally the scariest book I have ever read, BUT don’t let that deter you. I am a scaredy cat. Even though it kept me up a few nights, I loved every bit of it. Spooky vampire theme and based in the beautiful Charleston area. Must read!

  • The Halloween Tree
    • Ah, a Halloween classic. This year I am beginning the tradition of reading this book on Halloween. It is a short book and is a tradition amongst most readers. Though I have not read this one, I have heard amazing things!
  • The Ex Hex
    • The best way to describe this book is: Hocus Pocus vibes but with a whole lot of love. This book follows a witch in North Georgia who falls for a new visitor. The book has ghosts and a talking cat. Absolutely recommend. P.S. there is now a new book in this series which follows a character from the first book.
  • Pumpkin Spice and Not So Nice
    • Romance novel about a girl whose family runs a pumpkin patch. How cute? This book has a 3.8 out of 5 on Goodreads and is the perfect cozy book for an Autumn night. The book follows Jenna Peterson who has always struggled with finding the perfect man, until a mysterious note turns up at her family’s pumpkin patch.

Thrillers and horror books are the genre that usually come to mind for fall reading lists (I recommend The Last House on Needless Street & Wrong Place Wrong Time). And while I do enjoy a good murder mystery, the books listed above will leave you with a warm feeling (well, maybe not TSBCGTSV) and ready to carve all the pumpkins in the world! Enjoy crafting your Autumn reading list, happy reading!
