Ditching Coffee for Tea

Switching it up in the beginning of the year is normal and some consumers are turning to tea for caffeine intake over coffee. Yes, teas can be tasty – depending on the flavor – but more importantly, herbal teas can have an abundance of health benefits. In an effort to focus on our wellbeing more than ever in 2021, I gathered a roundup of teas you should try.

Peppermint Tea – Rich in antioxidants, peppermint tea is one of the most popular teas in the world. According to Healthline.com, people should consider sipping on this tea for an array of reasons – including for its anticancer, antibacterial and antiviral properties. It can also help with digestive issues and stomach pain.

Hibiscus Tea – In my quest to lower my sodium intake and regulate my blood pressure + heart rate, I came across hibiscus tea. This herbal tea bright in color is a great addition to your nightly routine. I typically have it before going to bed and according to experts, the benefits are definitely worthy of calling out. Lowering blood pressure and reducing stress are some of the positive effects of drinking hibiscus tea.

Ginger Tea – At the grocery store, ginger comes in many different forms, including as a root, in powder form and as a paste. Tea is another option and no matter which type of ginger you choose to incorporate into your diet, you’ll notice it can be used to treat stomach pain, reduce inflammation and alleviate nausea.

Like anything, too much of something can also be bad. Drinking too much tea can lead to trouble sleeping, headaches and increased exposure to toxins. That’s why, be sure to control the amount of tea you drink and if you’re still craving that cup of coffee, maybe it’s worth switching from one to the other from time to time.
