As we all know, I’m a huge movie gal. I’ve seen a lot of films, and sometimes the visuals are just as good – if not better – than the actual script. One of my favorite things to do while watching movies is to look at (and totally inspect) the homes the characters live in, often leaving me wishing that they were my own. Next time you watch a movie – especially if it’s Nancy Meyers or Nora Ephron related – look out for details in the houses or apartments throughout. In the meantime, here’s a list of some of my favorite movie homes!
- The unreal brownstone that Kathleen writes all her emails in during You’ve Got Mail.
- Dianne Keaton’s stunning Hampton’s home in Something’s Gotta Give.
- Hallie and Nick’s amazing California house and vineyard in The Parent Trap.
- And, of course, Annie and Elizabeth’s London home in The Parent Trap.
- The Bank’s house in Father of the Bride (with that iconic basketball court, of course).
- The cottage in The Holiday that makes me want to move to some secluded town in the middle of nowhere and have Jude Law fall in love with me.
- The house in Call Me By Your Name. I will happily go live in Northern Italy any time.
- The Notebook. Can Ryan Gosling build me a home please?
- The Young family home in Crazy Rich Asians (minus the dead tiger).
