Ask Alyssa the biggest lesson she’s learned about PR and she’ll talk about persistence. Some of her greatest media hits came after multiple follow-ups and reaching out to journalists on various platforms. As Alyssa shares, the key to persistence isn’t to be annoying and bombard every reporter out there, it’s putting in the work and doing the research prior to know that the idea you’re trying to sell is something that’s relevant to the specific person you’re contacting. We couldn’t agree more.
Alyssa grew up in the Hudson Valley, an area about two hours north of NYC. Growing up there allowed her to experience the best of both worlds – a scenic countryside, surrounded by mountains and nature, while being a train ride away from the city. Alyssa loves to travel and explore new places. Over the last two years, she’s visited two new countries, 10 new states, 35 new cities, and 7 national parks. Wow! She also played collegiate softball and is now a coach.
