Meet Alexis Paul, Fish’s newest Senior Account Manager and Leonardo DiCaprio’s future wife (Shh.. he just doesn’t know it yet). We’re lucky enough to have Alexis’ taco-loving, giggly-self here at Fish. Hailing from New Jersey, Alexis has an honest-to-goodness (emphasis on the honest!) approach to PR. She’s not afraid to get scrappy and tell it how it is – and the proof is in the pudding with the results she brings in for our clients.
You may think you have her figured out by her love for the warm sunshine, cold cocktails and the Kardashian’s, but keep reading – there’s so much more to Alexis than meets the (brown) eye!
Work you and personal you likely differ slightly. So how would your friends describe you?
Outside of work, I’m still pretty outgoing. My friends would say I love to laugh, joke around and am definitely the life of the party – take that as you will. My friends would also say I’m a very loyal friend, but also a bit dramatic. That’s my inner Leo for you!
And how would Lorne describe you?
Lorne has made it a point to call me a few times since I’ve started to thank me for my contributions, so I’d like to think hardworking and scrappy.
Bookworm or TV addict?
Love both, but TV addict all the way. I have almost every streaming service and I love a good binge. Plus, this whole bookworm thing is a new journey for me.
What’s your funniest Fish memory?
Probably when Josh took Callie’s smoothie literally the first time we met him and he didn’t even order one.
If you were Lorne for a day, what would you do?
Host a lunch one day where we order food from every single client to try because that just needs to happen and I’m dying to try all these brands.
Early bird or night owl?
Night owl for sure. I despise getting up early.
What are you currently binge watching?
The Kardashians. #bible
Tacos – hard shell or soft shell?
Tacos are one of my favorite foods, so honestly this is really tough. My dad always bought the kit growing up so we could have both. I think I’m going to go with soft though for mess purposes.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Physically – my eye color. I’m one of like four blondes I know with brown eyes and it drives me nuts. I would KILL for blue eyes. I don’t know how my Punnett Square got so messed up. Emotionally – caring too much about what other people think. I’m a huge people pleaser and hate when people dislike me – welp.
If it were up to you, what would your song selection be for conference line hold music?
Hotline Bling is pretty fitting.
Bloody Mary or Mimosa? And you can’t say both, although I’d absolutely respect it.
Mimosa hands down (preferably, a Bellini though). I HATE tomatoes with a burning passion they make me want to puke. Although, I do think Bloody Marys look good especially when they have the bacon and pickles on them.
You can bring anyone as a date to a dinner party, dead or alive, who’s your plus one?
I’m giving you one of each because this is too hard:
Dead: My Papa. He died in 2016 and I loved him so much! Would do anything to see him again. He was the absolute funniest and most generous person I’ve ever met.
Alive: The love of my life, the one and only, Leonardo DiCaprio. More specifically Jack Dawson, so maybe he technically counts as ‘dead’ too?
We know you can’t sing, but what’s your go-to karaoke song?
Ummmmm who said I can’t sing? I actually kind of can so I’m a little offended. Surprisingly I performed in two talent competitions during college but did lose both so LOL. But my go-to karaoke song is I Like It by Cardi B. I first graced the stage of The Cat’s Meow in NOLA back in 2019 with this little number and haven’t looked back. An iconic video to say the least.
What’s your party trick?
I can crack my right ear… and only my right. I know it sounds super strange. No idea how this happens or why, discovered it in fourth grade. I think its technically the cartilage, but still. Can perform next time I’m in FL.
Pick your poison – straight shot or mixed cocktail?
Mixed cocktail. The only shots I’m doing are Green Tea, White Tea or Pickleback.
Amy Poehler or Amy Schumer?
Is neither an option? Lol. Can I pick Adams instead?
If you could spend a year living anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I’d say Florida or California. I love the warmth.
When was the last time you told a lie? And if you say you don’t lie, then your answer should be “right this second.”
Telling someone on Hinge that I’ve been on vacation for three weeks so I don’t have to go on a date with them. Probably why I’m single AF.
Besides an ice-cold cocktail, what motivates you?
Securing a great piece of coverage!
If your name were an acronym, what would it stand for?
Ambitious
Loquacious
Extra
Xylophone
Independent
Scrappy
