Let’s have Less Stress

Doesn’t it feel as though we don’t have a choice when it comes to stress? Everyone experiences stress to some degree. Our bodies react, the heart rate increases, the blood vessels constrict and your breathing intensifies. The way you respond to stress, however, make a big difference to your overall well-being.

Below are 20 ways to guide yourself into that relaxation state of mind.

  1. Exercise: walk, run, skip, hop? Get moving!
  2. Drink tea
  3. The three B’s: Bath, Book, Booze
  4. Breathe Deeply
  5. Eat a healthy snack
  6. Visualize a peaceful environment (close your eyes!)
  7. Step away from the screen
  8. Try a different screen: Video Games
  9. Hug someone you love for 20 seconds
  10. Put on some relaxation music: spa sounds or soft classical
  11. Treat yourself! Candy or sweets (ONE!)
  12. Turn off your phone
  13. Eat a banana (for the potassium)
  14. Childs pose yoga position
  15. Write in your journal
  16. Meditate
  17. Cuddle with a pet
  18. Chew gum
  19. Soak in the sun and naturally get Vitamin D
  20. Smile!
