Ever buy a bunch of books, get all excited, then stare at them for a few months without reading a single one? Unfortunately, I’m guilty of exactly that – BUT, I am a work in progress, attempting to motivate myself and hoping that if I publicly discuss what’s up next on my reading list, it’ll hold me accountable. So, without further ado… here’s a peak at my current list:
- Beautiful Boy. I’ve had my eyes on this NYT Best Seller for years, but I finally bought it. Based on real events, this story follows a man as he copes with his son’s methamphetamine addiction and deals with relapse and recovery. While it’s definitely not a light-hearted story, I’ve only ever heard amazing things.
- Persuasion. Remember being forced to read Jane Austen in school and being upset about it? Well, turns out she actually had some pretty good ones, and this is just one of the many that I’m determined to read before seeing the film version.
- The Summer I Turned Pretty. Yes, I am a grown woman who binged the entire first season of this teen drama the weekend it came out, and yes, I will be reading the entire series as I patiently await season two. Team Conrad or NOTHING.
- My Own Words. RBG – need I say more?
- The Lincoln Lawyer. Wanting to add something with a bit more intrigue, I added this one to the list, because I simply cannot say no to a good thriller. If all goes well, I’m sure the sequel will make its way to my next list.
So, there you have it. Here’s to hoping my motivation sticks and I’m back with another list soon!
