Self-Care Tips to Love Yourself This Valentine’s Season

Whether you’re currently taken or single as a dollar, the most important relationship status of your life is the one you have with yourself. In honor of Valentine’s Day and the February month of love, take the opportunity to care for and love yourself with some of these self-care tips.

  • Prioritize Sleep. When it comes to taking care of your health and well-being, sleep is pretty much always part of the answer.
  • As Elle Woods once said, exercise gives you endorphins and endorphins make you happy.
  • Practice Kindness. Clinical studies have found that people who regularly practice gratitude journaling (writing down what you’re grateful for) report better well-being, physical health, and increased optimism about the future.
  • Just Say No. If your friends want you to come to happy hour but you’re exhausted from work, listen to your body and just say no.
  • Get Outside. Studies have even shown that getting outside can help reduce fatigue, making it a great way to overcome symptoms of depression or burnout.
  • Cuddle Your Dog. Self-explanatory and works every time.
  • Schedule Me Time. Just like you wouldn’t cancel an important meeting with a client or your boss, consider your me time nonnegotiable as well.
