The Christmas tree is up, the warm white lights are hanging, and the smell of hot chocolate and cranberry muffins is in the air. It’s officially the last month of the year and with only a few weeks left before we ease our way into 2021, I thought this would be the perfect time to wrap up what’s trending this month. For those of you looking to spend Christmas break watching a new show or sprucing up your home, check this out:
Hot Cocoa Charcutier Boards: Whether you have kids or not, it’s fair to say that a hot cocoa charcutier board will most likely please just about anybody during the holidays. This year, bakers and foodies are ditching the traditional gingerbread houses and opting for these new and creative spreads. Create your own at home this December by incorporating chocolates, marshmallows, candy canes, pretzels and sweet treats to top off your hot cocoa.
The Queen’s Gambit: Netflix’s new show (which actually launched in October but is just now generating the buzz it deserves) is already breaking records. The miniseries covers the life a young girl with an amazing talent for chess. Viewers follow her journey from uncovering her remarkable skills to developing an addiction at an orphanage and competing with the best of the best. With just seven episodes, it’s a quick and easy watch over the holiday break.
Vegetable Plants That’ll Survive the Cold Snap: Much of the country is already experiencing cold fronts – even in Florida. That’s why, if you’re looking to work around the house this month, Martha Stewart Living recently covered which plants will survive these new, low temperatures. Radishes respond well with sunny weather and temperatures as low as 50 degrees. Peas will withstand freezing temperatures and garlic that’s planted six weeks prior to a deep freeze will peak just like you’d hope for.
The Crown: Finally, those who have been following the show for 2+ years now got season 4. While this show isn’t one that’s action-packed or thrilling, it’s incredibly captivating to watch what goes on behind the gates of Buckingham Palace. This season, we also get a better glimpse into the life of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. Highly recommend watching.
