To all the crazy marathoners out there that make running look like a piece of cake, I’ve decided you are all magicians. You can run 26.2 miles and live to tell the tale, while I can barely run around the block. But, times are changing and I’ve actually started training! Well sort of..
1). You never realize how comfortable your bed is until your alarm rings at 5 a.m. As I slink out of the covers and aimlessly try to find my running shoes in the dark, I think to myself…
2). I hit the sidewalk with a renewed sense of determination and start jogging. The empty road makes me feel at peace and as the crisp air starts whipping across my face, I realize this isn’t as bad as I once thought.
3). But then my legs start to feel sluggish and I have trouble catching my breath. I look down at my Apple watch and to my surprise it says — .5 miles completed. Are you kidding?!
4). After what feels like an eternity, I finally make it home. And you know what? I feel accomplished, empowered and like I could take over the world. Okay, not seriously, but I’m pretty proud of myself!
5) Then I realize, I have to do this all again tomorrow…
