Is there anything more motivating than knowing there’s an ice cold drink with your name on it if you’re able to accomplish the task at hand? Ok, maybe there is, but for us here at Fish, dangle a cocktail in front of us and we’ll move mountains. Lorne knows his people well so when we’re faced with a challenge, it’s easy to get us motivated. All he has to say is “happy hour on me!” and the rest is history (we’re lushes and we know it).
Here’s what happened when we were tasked with delivering national consumer media coverage for our Dwyer Group brands – Mr. Rooter Plumbing, Mr. Appliance, Aire Serv, Glass Doctor and Rainbow International.
With free drinks in site, the team tapped into their creativity to develop fun and unique angles that would lead to media opportunities for our service brands. From plumbing horror stories to home maintenance tax refunds to knowing when to repair vs. replace, the team knocked it out of the park and drew attention from national media reporters who instantly bit on our compelling pitches.
As a result, we landed top-notch coverage with outlets including Today.com, Huffington Post and Redbook, and most importantly, delivered results that our clients were ecstatic about. While we don’t need a cocktail to make us do our best work, it never hurts to have something to look forward to after a job well done. A man of his word, Lorne handed over his card and the Dwyer team got to enjoy a waterside happy hour at local hot spot Rendezvous. And it was everything we had hoped for and more.
