Oh, the dreaded morning commute. If you’re lucky you only need to spend anywhere between 15 to 20 minutes on your trip into the office and if you’re really blessed, you work from home.
My commute could be 15 minutes, but this is South Florida so if it’s raining or someone has a fender bender, it turns into a solid 45 minutes to an hour. I’m SO blessed. Although I’m being sarcastic here, let’s seriously try to focus on the positives. Below are four things that I can actually enjoy about my trek to and from the office.
- My Morning Matcha – The first beverage of the day is always my matcha tea latte. Made with oat milk, matcha and a little sugar, it’s the perfect blend of caffeine and tea. I even put it in a green hydro-flask to-go coffee mug, because my drink must look cute to be fully enjoyed.
- Family phone calls – Almost every morning, the first call of the day is my mom. We chat about the upcoming day, our previous nights shenanigans and other hot gossip. Each call ends with me saying “I hope you have a Moody day!” since my mom works at Moody Accounting. I’m too funny 🙂
- Treat yourself – A motto that Parks&Rec established firmly into my life, that can be applied to my morning commute. I’ll often take the back route into the city and treat myself to a sweet croissant or tasty hash browns on my way into work.
- Sirius XM Radio – I’m hooked on Sirius XM and I’ll tell you why. No matter my mood, Srius can solve my often dilemma of what the heck do I listen to. Radio talk? The Howard Stern Show. Easy listening? Watercolors or Jazz. Pump up the vibe? Mosaic or Pop2k. I’ve covered all my basis.
