We’re Ranked as a Best Place to Work in South Florida Again!

Not to brag, but Fish is kind of awesome. Over the years, we’ve racked up a long list of industry accolades reinforcing our position as one of the best places to work in the country. We’re proud of the vibrant culture we’ve built here at Fish, and believe that the exceptional work we produce for our clients is made possible by the collaborative and supportive environment we’re lucky to call home. A few weeks ago, our team attended the South Florida Business Journal’s Best Places to Work annual luncheon. Fish was named a finalist for the top workplace honor for small companies for the third year in a row, a recognition that celebrates all of the perks and benefits we offer to each and every Fishie.

With so many best places to work awards under our belt, it’s safe to say that we’re pretty much experts on what it takes to build a top-notch company culture. At Fish, we take “work hard, play hard” seriously, and we’re lucky to work for a company that is so committed to recognizing its employee’s contributions and ensuring that every employee is motivated and given the tools they need to succeed. Our culture is about a lot more than having fun – it’s also about creating leaders.  When employees are motivated and inspired, they’re also self-sufficient and can produce great work without needing to be micromanaged, which gives the leadership team more time to grow the business instead of managing it.

So what exactly are the components of Fish that make us a best place to work? Here’s just a few…

  • Bring your dog to workday – everyday. When you walk into the Fish office, there’s a 99% chance that you’ll be greeted by one of our pups. Not only do dogs create a fun work environment, but studies show that having dogs around make employees more productive and significantly happier.
  • Casual dress code. Business casual is simply against our religion here at Fish.
  • Work from home flexibility. And did we mention that this option is unlimited? Whenever a Fishie wants to crank out their work from the comforts of their own home, they have the freedom to do so.
  • Weekly happy hours. Cheese and wine are the key to our hearts, so every Friday we shut down an hour early and do some good ol’ team bonding over a glass (or two) of pinot.
  • Culture fund. We allocate quarterly allowances specifically to surprise Fishies with team-bonding/moral-boosting activities during the workday. Most recently, we brought in a massage therapist to give every employee a 20-minute stress relieving session.
  • Monetary incentives. Winner of our Most Meaningful Media award receives a $200 gift card and our quarterly Top Fish recognition awards a top performer with an extra paid time off day.
  • Birthday PTO day. Every Fishie now receives an additional day off to celebrate their birthday out of the office
  • Summer Fun Day & Fish-mas – We close the office over the summer and in December for a day of fun and to celebrate each other. We also have an internal team in charge of putting together out-of-the-box activities to take Summer Fun to a new level. In 2017, the team put together The Fishie Awards (of course inspired by the Dundie Awards from The Office), which celebrated the best in every one of us and recognizing the things we love most about each other. Last year, the team created a Jeopardy-style game roasting the Fish CEO. From his love of dad jokes to his tendency to blast Mumford & Sons all day, nothing was off limits, and the fact that he took it all in stride speaks volumes to the playful vibe we’ve cultivated at Fish. How many people can say they roasted their boss and lived to tell the tale?
  • Fullystocked snack bar. Fair warning: the “Fish 15” is as real as the freshman 15. We keep a fully-stocked kitchen with unlimited refreshments, snacks and flavorful goodies for all employees.
  • Health insurance benefits from Day 1 and generous 401K plan. According to my dad, this is the most important perk at Fish.
