Watch Out Netflix, You’ve Got Competition

As a country, we love watching TV shows and movies. We love watching them so much, we often binge our favorites. Sometimes, we can binge too much and run out of things to watch, but fear not, there is always help out there. For example, if you love casino themed movies, such as Casino Royale or Mr Lucky, there are plenty of studies out there suggesting which movies to watch next based on your likes. Researchers have put a lot of time into these studies so that you don’t have to and it makes it easy for you to choose your next watch. You can view the study here if you want to learn more about the 21 best gambling movies.

However, over the past couple of years, Netflix has been raising their prices and because the content is so binge-worthy, we keep opening our wallets. This may not make sense for those who have read the 13 ways to watch TV for free, but for a lot of people, Netflix is essential. However, for many, that may change!

Disney is getting ready to launch a new streaming package that will bundle Disney+, ESPN+ and Hulu for only $12.99 a month. The pricing alone makes this bundle extremely competitive, with Hulu alone costing $5.99 a month, ESPN+ an additional $4.99 a month and Disney+ coming in at $6.99 a month. Now I’m no mathematician, but I know a good deal when I see one and saving $5 a month could be my much needed cup of Starbucks.

The new streaming package, which will be launched in November, is the same price as Netflix, but offers so much more. Disney+ allows viewers to stream classics such as Snow White, watch action-packed films such as The Avengers and also is including a few original series. ESPN+ features a selection of live games from NHL, MLB, college sports, PGA golf, boxing, tennis and much more. And of course, we all know Hulu, the home of our favorite reality shows and TV competitions.

In my opinion, this is a great deal! But, I’m not sure I can cut the cord with Netflix that fast. Netflix, it’s your move – show us what you’ve got.
