The Album That Brought Back My Teen Angst

Every generation thinks the music of their youth is superior and I’m no different. Not only did my generation have Britney Spears, N’Sync, Soulja Boy and Outkast, but you definitely can’t forget Panic! At The Disco, Green Day, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte and Blink-182. Need I go on?

As teenagers, we were moody, often misunderstood, always felt like our parents were out to get us and couldn’t wait to grow up. Mix all of that together and you’ve got a group of adolescents all in their feelings and pop punk/alternative was the music that allowed us to get all that teen angst out.

That genre eventually died out and honestly, we miss it. Yes, I speak for everyone. I haven’t found a single person that doesn’t blast a little Paramore or Fall Out Boy every once in a while.

Plot twist – our dream for a pop punk comeback is here! Machine Gun Kelly just released his album Tickets to My Downfall and when I tell you that album transported me back to high school, I’m talking baggy pants, Etnie shoes, skateboard and all. Every single song makes me feel like I’m at a Blink-182 concert and I am here for it. The guitar solos, the guest appearance by Halsey, the fact the album is produced by Travis Barker, it has everything. Seriously, go listen! I’m obsessed.
