Matt spent some time on the other side of the media as a sports beat-writer covering FSU football in Tallahassee. Fortunately for us, he saw the light, made the switch to PR and media relations and moved back to sunny Southern Florida.
In his previous role, Matt focused on hospitality and travel brands. While the travel perks were nice, Matt loves the strategic, targeted approach of franchise PR. “Following a strategic plan to secure targeted results makes sense, it’s the way it should be done,” he says. He’s also very competitive and likes to win, so crushing goals and outperforming expectations is perfect for him.
Matt’s competitive side also shines though in his love of sports. Uncommon for a South Florida native, he played hockey for 18 years. He also loves to spend his free time at baseball, basketball and football games. Another fun fact about Matt – when he was a kid he wanted to grow up to be a chef. Now he enjoys trying new restaurants, binge-watching the Food Network and perfecting his chicken burger. His secret? Always cook with cast iron.
