New Shows to Catch on Netflix

While many of us look forward to summertime to escape being locked up inside during the cold winter months, I can speak for everyone when I say it is HOT! Across the country, Americans have been experiencing record-breaking temperatures and heat waves that pose a threat for the population. That said, people are staying indoors during the peak of the day and catching up on the latest Netflix releases, including:

Manifest – A mystery series, Manifest is among the top shows Americans are watching on Netflix. The series follows the story of a group of passengers that were on a flight from Jamaica back to the U.S. when it disappeared. When the passengers reappear, it’s been five years in the real world – but not for them. While the entire world had given up on recovering their bodies, the passengers return to the airport as if nothing had gone wrong. We started watching this last week and I highly recommend it!

Outer Banks (Season 2) – I remember when the first season came out, I was hesitant to watch Outer Banks. I was proven wrong! On July 20, the show returns with fan-favorites John B and Sarah Cameron continuing their search for treasure in the Bahamas while their friends are back in the Outer Banks. Catch a glimpse of season 2 on Elle.com.

Ice Road – This 1hr 48min thriller is about a trucker on a mission to save a team of 26 miners trapped underground and all in time before a storm impacts the area and destroys them. Since debuting on Netflix in June, the movie has been at the top of the most streamed movies ever since.

Downton Abbey – A drama series based in the early 20th century, Downtown Abbey’s six seasons are now available on Netflix. The British series follows the lives of the Crawley family and the servants in their home. From the Brits at war with Germany, heirs dying and unforeseen tragedies, Downtown Abbey has it all. Now’s also the perfect time to watch it, as a movie and sequel are in the works.
