How to spark your creativity

Creating a strategic approach to blow our clients out of the water and elevate the brand’s national awareness is in our DNA. Our exemptional team is beyond talented and we’re lucky enough to have such a tight-knit group that will jump in and help each other without hesitating. However, there are times where we need to give our creative juices a little pick-me-up. With all of us working on grand openings, influencer campaigns or constantly pitching to position our clients as the leaders in their industries, it’s common to find ourselves brain dead. That’s why, I wanted to share a couple easy steps that can help PR and business professionals when they need to recharge.

Write it out

Put down on paper whatever it is you need to tackle in a new, creative form. Typing might be faster to do, but trust me when I say that taking a few extra minutes to brainstorm on paper instead of on a computer screen will make a big difference and force you to see things in a new light and perspective.

Step outside

Get away from your desk and go outside. The fresh air and sunlight will allow you to get your mind off that brand relaunch you’re planning and activate your senses in a completely different way. After 5-10 minutes, you’ll be ready to tackle your to do list without feeling burnt out.

Remove distractions

Sometimes we tend to be pulled in multiple directions and end up not tackling one thing nor the other. If you know you have to draft up ideas for an NYC media tour, block the group chat notifications and let your team know that you’ll be occupied for the next hour or so.

Don’t wait until Friday afternoon

I know pushing off a big task can seem like a good idea for later in the week but it’s not. The earlier in the day and week you commit yourself to completing your brainstorm session, the better you’ll do because no one has the capacity nor mental strength to be creative hours away from the weekend.
