5 Things We’re Looking Forward to at #IFA2022

The International Franchise Association’s Annual Convention is less than a month away and to say that we’re excited about being back together in person after a two-year hiatus is an understatement. There’s so much to look forward to over the four days at #IFA2022, but we felt compelled to share what we’re most excited about.

The Location: San Diego
First, huge kudos to IFA for locking in San Diego however many years ago as the 2022 convention spot. If you’re like me and live in a cold climate, Southern California in February will be a gift. And for my South Florida colleagues attending, Southern California in February will be a welcomed change of scenery (from one ocean to another?) after two years of a pandemic. Bravo.

The Opening Reception
Saturday, Feb. 26 // 6-7:30 p.m.
The opening reception is like walking into a party full of people you love seeing IRL, but rarely get to see IRL. If you’ve never witnessed what happens when I see someone for the first time in forever, it’s basically this GIF:

Vernice “FlyGirl” Armour at the Opening General Session
Sunday Feb. 27 // 8-10 a.m.
Six words: America’s first black female combat pilot. Not only is she a former combat pilot, but also she’s an entrepreneur and motivational speaker. I am 100% here for a high-energy, female powerhouse taking the stage to share her adventures and advice.

Thought Leadership Roundtables
Monday, Feb. 28 // 3-5:20 p.m.
Formerly known as the Business Solution Roundtables, the Thought Leadership Roundtables are a unique opportunity to huddle with a small group of franchisors, franchisees, and suppliers to discuss a hot topic or challenge impacting your business. This year, there will be three 40-minute rounds. It’s also a great way to meet people.

Fish’s Cocktail Party with Our Client FranConnect
Sunday, Feb. 27 // 7:30-10 p.m.
My favorite part of IFA might be our cocktail party. And, no, it’s not just because of the free wine and snacks. It’s because I love catching up with clients, meeting others that I don’t get to work with, and seeing new faces. So if you’re a client or industry friend and haven’t RSVP’d, please do! We’d love to see you.
