4 Tips to Avoid End of Year Anxiety

Thanksgiving is over, which means December is just around the corner – AKA, the end of the year is nearly here. While I’m certainly looking forward to a nice holiday, my to-do list isn’t as ready to take a break. If you’re anything like me and have similar year-end woes, don’t worry! Here are some helpful tips to avoid end of year anxiety.

Get organized. Take some time to really think through everything you want to accomplish throughout the next month. Get organized with your thoughts, and your to-do’s will seem a lot less intimidating.

Set goals. Don’t just think about what’s expected to be done – think about what you want to get done. Set some achievable, mini-goals for yourself from now until the end of the year, whether its personally, professionally, or anything in between. This will help you avoid end-of-year burnout.

Prioritize. Not everything can be done before the year ends, and that’s okay. Set realistic expectations as it pertains to what you can truly get done. Rearrange your tasks in order of importance. If there are things that can wait until January, leave those at the bottom of your list.

Plan ahead. If you know there will be some major to-do’s waiting for you as you enter 2023, don’t panic. Instead, prepare. Get ready in any way possible before you log off in December – that way, you feel more capable of taking on any task that awaits. It’s also great to take a look back at the past year and reflect before the new year. What did you accomplish? What do you wish to do more of? Having some goals in mind as you enter the new year will help you feel refreshed and ready for 2023.
