20 Questions with Marie Holstrom

Brooklyn born and bred, Marie’s love for connecting with people is evident for those lucky enough to work with her! Fortunately for us, Marie traded in her fleece jackets for flip flops and has been gracing us with her spunk and humor since moving to South Florida and joining the Fish team last year!

When she’s not SLAYING with major media wins, you can catch Marie thrift shopping around Miami or searching high and low for bagels and pizza that will live up to her NY standards. Enough talk for now, read more below and see for yourself why we’re happy to have Marie as part of our Fish fam.

Work you and personal you likely differ slightly. So how would your friends describe you?
Loyal, fun, and I’d like to think hysterical.

And how would Lorne describe you?
Enthusiastic with New York hustle.

Bookworm or TV addict?
Honestly, neither. I’m more addicted to my phone than I’d like to admit. But if I had to say one – TV addict.

What’s your funniest Fish memory?
Josh getting pooped on by a bird while we were doing work on the office patio. On a rough day I’ll play that one back in my head for a good laugh; it truly never gets old.

If you were Lorne for a day, what would you do?
Take the whole team to Disney World, specifically Epcot, and let the kids run wild.

Early bird or night owl?
As much as I try to be an early bird… night owl.

What are you currently binge watching?
Entourage is my go to comfort show but as I mentioned, I’m not much of a TV girl. It will probably take me the year to rewatch all the seasons, but it truly never misses.

Tacos – hard shell or soft shell?
Soft shell. I actually have no idea when the last time I had a hard shell taco was – maybe 2007?

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I’d have more money. LOL.

If it were up to you, what would your song selection be for conference line hold music?
Levels by Avicii – the quintessential EDM song.

Bloody Mary or Mimosa? And you can’t say both, although I’d absolutely respect it.
Mimosa for sure. Bloody Mary’s are great but only for about three sips, then I get grossed out and move onto a momo.

You can bring anyone as a date to a dinner party, dead or alive, who’s your plus one?
Nicki Minaj. I am so confident that if she and I ever met, we’d instantly be best friends – and no one can convince me otherwise.

We know you can’t sing, but what’s your go-to karaoke song?
Ain’t No Mountain High Enough. I had my 17th birthday party at a karoke venue, rocked the crowds socks off and have been pleasing people with this one ever since.

What’s your party trick?
I’m really good at shuffling, which I’m not sure is a party trick but it definetly gets the people going.

Pick your poison – straight shot or mixed cocktail?
Mixed cocktail… unless the gurlies want to have a night.

Amy Poehler or Amy Schumer?
Poehler. I grew up on SNL – my mom and I would watch it every week, though looking back I don’t think my younger self actually understood majority of the skits.

If you could spend a year living anywhere in the world, where would it be?
A little island in Greece, maybe Kefalonia, and be in my beach queen Mamma Mia era.

When was the last time you told a lie? And if you say you don’t lie, then your answer should be “right this second.”
When I told myself I wouldn’t snooze my alarm more than four times this morning.

Besides an ice-cold cocktail, what motivates you?
Money (can you tell I’m a Capricorn?) and my family. With the endless support they give me I hope to make them proud in everything I do.

If your name were an acronym, what would it stand for?
M
– major slay
A – always on the go
R – relentless prankster
I –  iconic
E – everything bagel – bacon, egg and cheese, salt, pepper, ketchup
