20 Questions with Margo Williams

Meet Margo, Fish’s newest Account Director and 2003 rap song aficionado (she may or may not know all the words to “Shake Ya Tailfeather”). Beyond fan girl-ing over Nelly, Diddy, and Murphy Lee, Margo is also a sucker for just about any pop song, but Ariana Grande reigns supreme.

As if her diverse taste in music wasn’t reason enough to love her, Margo is also pretty amazing at her job. Although she was born and raised in South Florida, she sharpened her PR skills in the Big Apple, working VIP events and securing VIC (very important coverage) for her clients. So, when she decided to make her way back to the Sunshine State, we knew she’d make the perfect addition to the Fish Fam! Her creativity and enthusiasm shine through everything she does, and we’re so excited that she’s a part of the team that we may just start shaking our tailfeathers.

Work you and personal you likely differ slightly. So how would your friends describe you?
I’d like to think my friends would describe me as funny and dependable. I know for sure they would say I really like to laugh – whether at my own jokes or someone else’s – and that when I laugh hard enough, I cry. And it really doesn’t take much to get me there, which just makes me and everyone around me laugh even more.

And how would Lorne describe you?
Oh gosh that’s a tough one – I think he’d definitely acknowledge me as a hard worker, but hopefully he’d also recognize I’m eager to learn and determined to succeed.

Bookworm or TV addict?
Neither and both at the same time? When I find a great book it makes me want to constantly read, but once I get to a tough read, I lose that enthusiasm. TV is just always on in the background, but I wouldn’t say I’m addicted to sitting and really watching it. TikTok is my vice, unfortunately.

What’s your funniest Fish memory?
So embarrassing: one of my first client calls, which Lorne was also part of, I introduced myself as an Account Director – not at Fish though, muscle memory made me say my old agency. Face palm.

If you were Lorne for a day, what would you do?
Bonuses for everyone! (I’m sure everyone says that)

Early bird or night owl?
Early bird – when the sky’s awake, I’m awake. A blessing and a curse really.

What are you currently binge watching?
Formula 1: Drive to Survive – it’s like reality TV meets sports, so my boyfriend gets into it, too.

Tacos – hard shell or soft shell?
Soft! I was a die-hard flour tortilla kind of gal but then discovered street tacos in San Diego and they most definitely need corn tortillas.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Basically, all of my emotions physically present as crying. So if I’m really happy I cry, if I’m angry I cry, when I’m uncomfortable – you guessed it, crying. I wish I had more of a poker face!

If it were up to you, what would your song selection be for conference line hold music?
I feel like Panic! At The Disco’s first album would be a vibe for conference line hold music. Every song is kind of a bop and the lyrics are utterly ridiculous.

Bloody Mary or Mimosa? And you can’t say both, although I’d absolutely respect it.
Mimosa! Bloody Mary’s are too much of a meal on their own – too heavy to have as a brunch bev.

You can bring anyone as a date to a dinner party, dead or alive, who’s your plus one?
Paul Walker. Sigh.

We know you can’t sing, but what’s your go-to karaoke song?
Shake Ya Tailfeathers – Nelly, Diddy, Murphy Lee. I’ve loved that song since I was 12 and it never gets old.

What’s your party trick?
Now you see me, now I’m drunk. Works every time.

Pick your poison – straight shot or mixed cocktail?
Mixed cocktail. Margaritas or extra dirty martinis to be exact.

Amy Poehler or Amy Schumer?
I recently started watching Parks and Rec again. Too good.

If you could spend a year living anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Literally put me on a beach anywhere in the world, and I’ll be happy. So you could say I’m already living there, but if I had to choose a different beach, maybe Hawaii would be nice.

When was the last time you told a lie? And if you say you don’t lie, then your answer should be “right this second.”
When I told my dog I’d be right back and then didn’t come back for several hours. If you’re reading this, sorry Jenny 😉

Besides an ice-cold cocktail, what motivates you?
I work hard to play hard. Well, more like rest hard, but you know same thing, right?

If your name were an acronym, what would it stand for?
M: Magnetic
A: Adventurous
R: Reliable
G: Girly
O: One-of-a-Kind
