20 Questions with Jamie Avalon

What we love the most about Jamie is that she’s one of those natural PR pros that are so difficult to find. She thrives on collaborating with colleagues, being curious and creative, and making sure she’s a team player. We also respect that’s a total yogi at heart and loves relaxing just as hard as she works. If you haven’t had the pleasure of working with this stellar Fishie, keep reading to learn more about her! 

Work you and personal you likely differ slightly. So how would your friends describe you?
Not sure work me and personal me differ too much, but I think my friends would describe me as loving, loyal, and a 90-year-old grandma at heart.

And how would Lorne describe you?
Hopefully Lorne would describe me as hard-working and eager. Oh, and definitely wordy.

Bookworm or TV addict?
Wish I could say bookworm, but I’m a TV addict.

What’s your funniest Fish memory?
I’ve had a lot of funny memories at Fish. I don’t think I could pick one! There were a lot of funny moments during the week of our holiday party, though.

If you were Lorne for a day, what would you do?
Take the day off, turn my phone off, and relax!

Early bird or night owl?
Early bird. If I’m in bed by 9 p.m., I’m a happy camper.

What are you currently binge watching?
Succession. So good.

Tacos – hard shell or soft shell?
Both. Take the hard shell and wrap it in the soft. Best way to eat a taco.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would stop stressing things that are out of my control or that don’t matter.

If it were up to you, what would your song selection be for conference line hold music?
I’d shuffle Harry’s House for our conference line music. Harry Styles puts everyone in a good mood.

Bloody Mary or Mimosa? And you can’t say both, although I’d absolutely respect it.
Mimosa.

You can bring anyone as a date to a dinner party, dead or alive, who’s your plus one?
My grandma. She was one of my favorite people, and always had some amazing stories, so she’d be a good plus one.

We know you can’t sing, but what’s your go-to karaoke song?
Absolutely anything Taylor Swift. Taylor’s version only, obviously.

What’s your party trick?
Leaving a party early to go eat or sleep.

Pick your poison – straight shot or mixed cocktail?
Mixed cocktail.

Amy Poehler or Amy Schumer?
Poehler all the way.

If you could spend a year living anywhere in the world, where would it be?
New York City.

When was the last time you told a lie? And if you say you don’t lie, then your answer should be “right this second.”
When I said that I was going to make it to FIIT this past weekend…did make it to yoga, though!

Besides an ice-cold cocktail, what motivates you?
My loved ones.
