Office Gadgets You Never Knew You Needed

There’s been a growing trend in our office to stand while working, and I’m all for it. The high top bar area in the middle of the office is the perfect height to place my MacBook so I can have better posture while still being productive. And who likes to sit all day at a desk, anyway? This led me to campaign for a treadmill desk, but since those efforts have been squashed, I found an alternative: the Wurf Board. According to the website, the Wurf Board is a “highly supportive, lively, air-spring surface that encourages standing desk users to make continuous micro movements, which improves blood-flow so you can stand comfortably much longer. These subtle movements improve posture; strengthen feet, legs, core, and back; and raise alertness, focus, and productivity.” How could we not get this for the office?

The Wurf Board got me thinking that there must be tons of other useless amazing office gadgets out there that you never knew you needed. Something I stumbled across recently was these NYC two way radio installations in store and on location for particularly big offices as a form of communication. As well as this, after some quick Google research, I found this article that lists a few. Here are some of my favorites:

Sticky Note Roll

Post-it® notes are so last season. Be cooler than your officemates with this self stick note paper.

The Foot Hammock

If you have to sit, you might as well sit with your feet up. You can buy this genius footrest on Amazon.

Smoko Toast USB Handwarmers

There’s a constant battle in the office over the AC. I’m usually the one lowering the temperature, so these amazing toast-shaped hand warmers could not be any more perfect for those that I make freeze on a daily basis. You can get them here.

And in the mean time, I’ll keep you posted on my efforts to convince Lorne that a Wurf Board is an office necessity.
